Distances in the highly supercritical percolation cluster

On the supercritical percolation cluster with parameter p, the distances between two distant points of the axis are asymptotically increased by a factor 1 + 1−p 2 + o(1 − p) with respect to the usual distance. The proof is based on an apparently new connection with the TASEP (totally asymmetric simple exclusion process).

Model for Anisotropic Directed Percolation

We propose a simulation model to study the properties of directed percolation in two-dimensional (2D) anisotropic random media. The degree of anisotropy in the model is given by the ratio μ between the axes of a semiellipse enclosing the bonds that promote percolation in one direction. At percolation, this simple model shows that the average number of bonds per site in 2D is an invariant equal ...

The shape of large balls in highly supercritical percolation

We exploit a connection between distances in the infinite percolation cluster, when the parameter is close to one, and the discrete-time TASEP on Z. This shows that when the parameter goes to one, large balls in the cluster are asymptotically shaped near the axes like arcs of parabola.

Tunneling conductivity in anisotropic nanofiber composites: a percolation-based model.

The critical path approximation ('CPA') is integrated with a lattice-based approach to percolation to provide a model for conductivity in nanofiber-based composites. Our treatment incorporates a recent estimate for the anisotropy in tunneling-based conductance as a function of the relative angle between the axes of elongated nanoparticles. The conductivity is examined as a function of the volum...

Gaussian fluctuations of connectivities in the subcritical regime of percolation

We consider the d-dimensional Bernoulli bond percolation model and prove the following results for all P<Pc: (1) The leading power-law correction to exponential decay of the connectivity function between the origin and the point (L, 0, ..., 0) is L -(d-1)/2. (2)The correlation length, ~(p), is real analytic. (3)Conditioned on the existence of a path between the origin and the point (L, 0 . . . ...
